Self Service Password Reset & Microsoft Authenticator Enrollment

Action required
We now use Microsoft Authenticator only for sign-in verification and password reset.
Text messages, phone calls, and email codes are not supported.
You’ll continue to receive reminder emails until you complete registration.

Quick setup (takes ~2 minutes)

  1. On your phone, install Microsoft Authenticator from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. On your computer, open aka.ms/ssprsetup and sign in with your Harbor username and password.
  3. Choose Microsoft Authenticator and follow the prompts:
    • Scan the QR code with the app
    • Approve the notification on your phone

Done! You’re registered.

Tip: Keep notifications enabled for Authenticator.


How to reset your password

A) From the Windows sign-in screen

  1. On your work PC, click Reset password under the password box.
  2. Approve the prompt in the Microsoft Authenticator app.
  3. Enter a new password and sign in.

B) From any device

  1. Go to aka.ms/sspr.
  2. Verify with the Microsoft Authenticator app, then choose a new password.

Troubleshooting

New phone / lost phone

  • Install Authenticator on the new device.
  • Open aka.ms/ssprsetup and follow prompts to add the new phone.
  • If you cannot approve a prompt (no enrolled device), click Get help below so IT can re-enroll you.

No “Reset password” on the Windows screen

  • Restart the PC and try again. If it still isn’t there, click Get help.
